John's Biography
A veteran of the local folk scene John’s songwriting ability was first recognized when he won a political song writing competition run by the famous Scotia Bar in Glasgow during the city’s reign as City of Culture in 1990. Since then he has produced two albums of mainly his own songs “Bridges’ and “Sands of Time”
Over the past decade John has worked with children in schools throughout South Lanarkshire on song writing projects helping children to write their own songs. He has been a member of the Lanarkshire Songwriters since its early years and has contributed to several cds produced by the group. He is also a member of Cruachan Folk Group.
